Mala in Buddhism
Each Mala is composed of 108 grains (or in multiples of 9, a recurring number in Buddhist numerology) in scented wood (original) while the other elements such as natural stones, fabric tassels and other traditional symbols have only an aesthetic function.
The 108 wooden beads represent the 108 Buddhas summoned to protect, help in difficulties, obtain wealth and eliminate any threat.
The Tibetan Mala can be used both as a bracelet and as a necklace.
